Reducing bias, dark and lflat frames

If you later import more of the above frames, you’ll need to re-run the above commands to update the combined frames.

mngr.reduce_bias(overwrite=True)

If you later import more data that goes into new directories, you’ll need to update the links:

mngr.link_lflat()

Reducing fibre flat, arc and offset sky frames

mngr.make_tlm()
mngr.reduce_arc()
mngr.reduce_fflat()
mngr.reduce_sky()

mngr.reduce_arc(ccd=’ccd_1′, date=’130306′, field_id=’Y13SAR1_P002_09T004′)

will only reduce arc frames for the blue CCD that were taken on the 6th March 2013 for the field ID Y13SAR1_P002_09T004. 

Reducing object frames

mngr.reduce_object()

Flux calibration

mngr.derive_transfer_function()
mngr.combine_transfer_function()
mngr.flux_calibrate()
mngr.telluric_correct()

As before, keywords can be set to restrict which files are processed, and overwrite=True can be set to force re-processing of files that have already been done.

If a standard has not been observed on the same night it looks for a standard in previous nights. Also remember that trasmission is calculated from the star in the plate!!!

 

Scaling frames

mngr.get_stellar_photometry()

This will check the stars in your observing run against the inbuilt catalogue. If any are missing you will be prompted to download the relevant data from the SDSS website.
Once the stellar photometry is complete, you can continue with scaling each frame:

mngr.scale_frames()

Cubing

mngr.measure_offsets()
mngr.cube()
mngr.scale_cubes()

Checking outputs

mngr.print_checks()
mngr.check_next_group()

mngr.check_group(3)

Disabling files

mngr.disable_files([’06mar10003′, ’06mar20003.fits’, ’06mar10047′])
